Having worked with architects and engineers over her whole career, Jill has been involved in all aspects of design projects, from interviewing and marketing, programming, space planning, finish selections and specifications, contract documents, contract administration, furniture selections and specifications, and as LEED administrator. This experience allows Watkins Design Works to provide a menu of services and be involved on projects for our architectural clients as needed. We embrace a team approach and understand that:
- The interior and exterior should complement each other in terms of level of finish, color, function and overall design concept.
- Meeting construction budgets is critical, so maximizing them by setting priorities for high profile or highly functional areas verses back-of-house or less critical areas is essential.
- Durability of materials varies widely, along with costs, so our 20+ years of commercial design experience draws upon our expansive knowledge of materials for many different project types.
- Creative use of interior details, including walls/ceilings/floors, millwork, lighting, and furniture, improves an interior space and augments the architecture surrounding it.
